A WORD FROM THE FESTIVAL DIRECTOR
Dear Potential Home Hosts,
As you already know, hosting one of our festival guests is an opportunity for you to become personally involved in the festival and get to know some of these brilliant artists on a personal level in exchange for 4 complimentary tickets valid for entrance to all
festival events (a $160. total value).

More importantly, this is a chance for you to introduce our tremendous community to the foreign and US musicians that come to St. Joseph every year for this monumental event.

Former guests to our festival have come from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Cyprus, France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Poland, Serbia, Ukraine, Uruguay and throughout the US. Naturally, hosts with varied language skills are a great asset, but a majority of our guests speak English fluently.

Our guests usually arrive sometime on Wednesday and will be leaving Monday. If they are driving, they will come directly to Missouri Western and you will be notified when to meet them at the school. If they are flying, you will be notified later as to their flight plans so you can pick them up at Kansas City International Airport.

The prize money and gifts for this year’s competition are in excess of $7000 which places us among the top 5 classical guitar competitions in the US and we are expecting more competitors than ever before so your participation as a home host is a vital aspect to the success of our festival.
