Renewal Requirement

To remain eligible for this waiver, you must maintain an overall GPA of 2.50 or higher. This requirement will be reviewed in May each year in accordance with current Financial Aid Policy.

Calculation of your Award

Prior to calculating your waiver, institutions must first apply all Federal and State grant funds (Pell, Access Missouri, SEOG, etc.) along with other tuition assistance opportunities to your cost of tuition.

Example:

Under the Heroes' Act, an eligible veteran enrolled in 12 credit hours, would be required to pay a maximum of $600 ($50 per credit hour) toward the cost of tuition. If the eligible veteran also receives a Pell Grant ($1,000) and Access Missouri ($500), the waiver will be calculated as follows:

Award Calculation
Cost of 12 Credit Hours Tuition
$2.189.16
Less Access Missouri
$500
Less Pell Grant
$1000
Cost After Application of Grant Funds
$689.16
Maximum Cost to Eligible Veteran (12 Hrs)
$600
Missouri Heroes Waiver
$89.16

Cost of Attendance Budget Limitation

Under the Heroes' Act, eligible veterans will not receive more than the actual cost of attendance when the limitation is combined with other aid made available to such a veteran.
