Partamian Economics Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Western Department Aid Program Awarded to students interested in the field of Economics. Two scholarships will be awarded on the basis of merit and two on the basis of financial need. Application Procedures: Complete the General Scholarship Application requirements. Contact Information: Economics Department, 816/271-5870 John Sublett Logan Business Undergraduate Scholarship Deadline: March 1st Western Department Aid Program The John Sublett Logan Business Undergraduate Scholarship provides assistance to full-time, junior and senior students who intend to pursue graduate degrees in Accounting, Business, Economics, or Legal Studies. Applicants must have completed a minimum of 60 hours, have a minimum GPA of 3.20, earned a composite ACT of 23 or above, participate in community service, be a declared major in Business, Legal Studies, Accounting, or Economics, and reside in Buchanan, Platte, Andrew, Clay, or Clinton county in Missouri. Contact Information: Foundation Office, 816/271-5647 Western Excellence Awards Deadline: March 1st Western Department Aid Program $500 Incoming Freshman Scholarship – Award made for the fall semester to an incoming freshman with a high school cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 who enrolls in ECO 260 or 261 for the fall semester and intends to major in Economics. $1000 New Economics Major Scholarship – Awarded for the academic year to a newly declared Economics major who has completed at least one of the Principles courses with a grade of B or better. Major must be declared in the Fall, Spring or Summer of the prior academic year. $500 Outstanding Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Scholarships – Three awards of $500 each will be made to the students who are selected as outstanding sophomore, junior, and senior Economics majors. Applications will not be solicited. All declared majors will be eligible. Awards will be decided at the beginning of the fall semester based on student’s class standing and GPA in major courses completed up to that point. In cases where multiple students qualify, each student’s cumulative GPA, number of hours completed in Economics, service to the department and the College, and other relevant circumstances will be considered.
