This award was established for one or more students who have demonstrated academic excellence in the field of chemistry.  Recipients must be declared chemistry majors and have at least a 3.0 GPA in the major courses.  Recipients will be named by a chemistry department selection committee.

Chemathon Division Winner Waivers               

Western Department Aid Program

Tuition Waivers are awarded to the six division winners in the Chemathon.  The Tuition Waivers are for one semester and are not renewable.

Recipients of the scholarship shall be juniors and seniors who have declared a major in chemistry and who have demonstrated academic achievement in that area.

This scholarship will be awarded to a chemistry major.  The major may be either a full-time or part-time student.

Larry L. Lambing Chemistry Scholarship

Established by friends and colleagues in honor of Larry's long career as a faculty member in the department of Chemistry.  Scholarship will be awarded to a Junior or Senior Chemistry major participating in research and in need of financial assistance.

Science Scholarship Fund of MWSU

Interest from this fund provides scholarships for students who have completed at least one semester successfully at MWSU and are interested in pursuing a pre-professional degree in science.  Need, scholastic ability, and commitment are also selection factors.

The Prime Tanning Scholarship (Blueside Companies, Inc.)

This scholarship has been established for students graduating from Northwest Missouri or Northeast Kansas majoring in chemistry.  Recipient must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in their junior or senior year at Western.

Western Excellence Awards   - Chemistry

Western Department Aid Program

The Chemistry Department will award up to six $500 scholarships to three freshman and three sophomore students majoring in, or intending to major in, a Department of Chemistry degree program.  Freshman applicants must have achieved a minimum ACT score of 25 and enroll in CHE 111 during their incoming semester or have completed a equivalent course prior to entering Western.  Freshman applicants must also indicate their intent to pursue a degree in Chemistry.  Sophomore applicants must have declared Chemistry as a major and have earned a minimum GPA of 3.0.  Preference will be given to students pursuing an American Chemical Society certified degree.

William Roesle Memorial Scholarship Fund

Western Foundation

Family and friends of William Roesle have established a memorial scholarship fund to benefit chemistry students.  The recipient is selected by the Scholarship Committee upon recommendation by the Department of Chemistry.
