Presidents Community College Transfer Scholarship

Deadline:  Priority June 1st

Missouri Western Aid Program

This scholarship is awarded annually to Missouri Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.  This award is restricted to full-time students entering Missouri Western for the first time.  This award must be used in the student's first four semesters (excluding summer sessions) of full-time attendance (semesters need not be consecutive).  The scholarship is valued at up to $3,000 per year. The student must maintain a 3.5, or above, cumulative GPA to remain eligible.

Application Procedures: Awarded automatically to students who qualify. Must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Deadline:  Priority June 1st

Missouri Western Aid Program

This scholarship is awarded annually to Missouri Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and are members of Phi Theta Kappa. This award is restricted to full-time students entering Missouri Western for the first time. This award must be used in the student's first four regular semesters (excluding summer sessions) of full-time attendance. The scholarship is valued at up to $3,500 per year. The student must maintain a 3.5, or above, cumulative GPA to remain eligible. This scholarship may not be used in conjunction with the President's Community College Transfer Scholarship.

Application Procedures: Awarded automatically to students who qualify. Must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Missouri Community College Association / Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

Deadline:  Priority June 1st

Missouri Western Aid Program

This scholarship is awarded on a competitive basis to incoming students who meet the criteria for the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship and are also members of the MCCA/PTK All-Missouri Academic Team. This scholarship is valued at up to $2,000 for the year and may be used in conjunction with the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship. The student must maintain a 3.5 cumulative GPA to remain eligible.

Governors' Community College Transfer Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded annually to Missouri Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  This award is restricted to full-time students entering Missouri Western for the first time.  This award must be used in the student's first four semesters (excluding summer sessions) of full-time attendance (semesters need not be consecutive). The scholarship is valued at up to $1,500 per year.  The student must maintain a 3.0, or above, cumulative GPA to remain eligible.

4 Year Transfer Scholarship

Deadline: Priority June 1st

Missouri Western Aid Program

Awarded to students who are transferring to Missouri Western from a 4-year college or university.  Eligible students must have earned a minimum of 24 credit hours with a cumulative GPA of 3.25.

Application Procedures: Awarded automatically to students who qualify. Must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Non-Traditional Community College Transfer Scholarship

Deadline:  Priority June 1st

Missouri Western Aid Program  

This scholarship is awarded annually to Missouri Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. This award is restricted to students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours but less than 12 credit hours. Applicants must demonstrate that they work 20 hours or more per week and provide a personal statement that indicates the reasons why they cannot attend Missouri Western on a full-time basis. This scholarship is limited to eight semesters. The scholarship is worth an amount up to $750 per semester. A 3.00 cumulative GPA is required for renewal.

Application Procedures: Submit a letter of application along with employment certification to the Office of Financial Aid. Must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Midwest Student Exchange Program

Midwest Student Exchange Program

Interstate Program

Deadline: Priority March 1st

This program was established by the Midwestern Higher Education Commission to increase interstate educational opportunities for student of its member states. The program allows residents of Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin to enroll in specific designated programs at reduced tuition rates. Through MSEP, Missouri Western will charge eligible students no more than 150% of the in-state resident tuition rate for specific programs. To qualify for the program:

  • First-time freshman must have earned a minimum ACT composite score of 21 and a GPA of 3.00 for all high school coursework.
  • Transfer students must have earned a 3.00 GPA for all college level coursework.

Recipients must maintain a 3.00 GPA for renewal. This award may not be combined with the Neighboring States Scholarship or the Western Frontier Scholarship.

Application Procedures: Awarded automatically to qualified students. Recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Western Frontier Scholarship

Deadline: Priority March 1st  
Missouri Western Aid Program

This scholarship is awarded to students who are not residents of Missouri and score a minimum composite of 23 on the ACT. The award cannot be combined with the Midwest Student Exchange Program or the Neighboring States Scholarship. The scholarship is valued at up to $1,500 per year. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA for renewal.  
Application Procedures:  Awarded automatically to students who qualify. Recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Western Neighboring States Scholarship

Deadline: Priority March 1st  

Missouri Western Aid Program

This scholarship is awarded annually to full-time students who are residents of a Missouri neighboring state (Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Illinois, Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee). The award is valued at the difference between in- and out-of-state tuition for 12 credit hours. To qualify:

  • First-time freshman must have earned a minimum ACT composite score of 21 and a GPA of 3.00 for all high school coursework.
  • Transfer students must have earned a 3.00 GPA for all college level coursework.

Recipients must live in the residence halls and maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA for renewal. This award may not be combined with the Midwest Student Exchange Program or the Western Frontier Scholarship.

Application Procedures:  Awarded automatically to students who qualify. Recipients must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Private Donor Scholarships for Transfer Students

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program

Private Donor

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship Program will award approximately 30 scholarships to students currently attending community colleges or two-year institutions and planning to transfer to four-year institutions. The scholarship awards will provide funding for tuition, room and board, books, and other required fees for the remainder of the Jack Kent Cooke Scholar's bachelor's degree, generally two years. The amount and duration of awards will vary by student based on the cost of attendance and the length of the program as well as other scholarships or grants received. Candidates for this scholarship must be nominated by the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Faculty Representative at their two-year institution.
