About Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology
The Department of Engineering Technology offers both AS
and BS degrees in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology.
The degrees in both these programs focus on studies which integrate
computer software and computer hardware subject matter.
The A.S. degree will prepare the student to
have a practical understanding of computer components as well
as an understanding of their functioning sequences. A basic level
of computer programming is also a part of the student's experience.
The B.S. degree will provide the student with an understanding
of microcomputer hardware design, troubleshooting, upgrading,
and maintenance as well as a moderate level of computer software
programming experience. The student will also be trained in Programmable
Logic Controller Functioning as well as utilization of hardware
and software knowledge to enter into the field of Human/Machine
Interface work. The B.S. degree study program enables the student
to obtain work in the programmable controls area of the industrial
sector of the economy.
