Required Materials
writing journal, paper, pens, pencils, clips, stapler, 3.5” floppy disks/storage box,
folder for submitting rough and final drafts of essays.
Grading (For other important details see p.vi in the Introduction to College Writing text.)
4 typed essays 50%
final test: in-class essay 8%
journals (write 2 full pages each week) 20%
classwork 12%
quizzes; presentations 10%
Late Work
Notify the teacher in advance, arranging to complete work prior to class in the event you will be absent.
Late papers are lowered by one letter grade per session late.
Classwork is not made up without prior arrangement and/or authorization.
The daily classwork grade during unexcused absences will be an F.

More than 5 absences: automatic failure of the course. 3 tardies count as 1 absence.
In addition, if the student misses more than 3 workshops, the student will fail the class.
Cheating/Plagiarism: Automatic failure of the course (Also see p. xiii of Introduction to College Writing)
Final Exams: Sec. 6 Thursday Dec. 15 8:30 a.m. - 10:20 a.m.
Sec. 12 Tuesday Dec. 13 11:30 a.m - 1:20 p.m..
Sec. 20 Tuesday Dec. 13 2:00 p.m. - 3:50 p.m.
Miscellaneous
Four papers must be turned in or else the student fails the course.
The student must receive at least a “C” in this course in order to qualify for English 104.
Any student in this class with a disability that requires any special consideration must contact me
as soon as possible.
