Attendance Policy:

This class has a very strict attendance policy that applies to both class meetings and the Writer’s Workshops.  If you miss seven class periods or four Writer’s Workshops, you will receive an F in the course.  On many days a sign-up sheet will be passed around the class.  It is your responsibility to make sure that you sign in each day.  Please show up to class on time.  Three late arrivals (more than five minutes after class has begun) equal one absence.  Your workshop also has a tardiness policy that is explained in the workbook.  Ordinarily there are no exceptions for this attendance requirement.  If you know of any circumstances likely to make this policy difficult for you this semester, you should consult with your advisor and me to review your options. If you miss a class session, you are responsible for all material covered and assignments given during your absence.  All out-of-class assignments are due at the beginning of the class period.  No late assignments will be accepted unless you have received permission from me (in person) at least one class period before the assignment is due.
