Course Description and Objectives:

Please visit http://www.missouriwestern.edu/eflj/eng104.asp to read Missouri Western’s standard course description and list of objectives for English 104.

English 104 emphasizes writing as a continuous process. Pre-writing activities and revision are major components of the course. Grading is based on both process and product. This particular section of 104 is part of the FIG program that encourages the development of interdisciplinary learning communities. Your FIG theme is "Economics and Expression." Our three-course community includes English 104, Communications 104 and Economics 101. I will be meeting with the other instructors throughout the semester so that we can coordinate subject matter and activities. My hope is that you will be able to apply what you learn in my class to the other two courses in the group. Those courses in turn will equip you with knowledge and skills that will be helpful in English 104.
