Every semester over 80 students with disabilities request the assistance of a classroom note taker.
Here is how you can help...
We know that Western is full of awesome students with a heart for helping others. We know that in every class there is at least one person who is willing to serve as the class note taker for the semester. That is why the Disability Services staff has created a new volunteer note taking program beginning the spring of 2006.
Helping Hands Note Takers:
-
Will improve their own note taking skills through hands-on training
-
Will be recognized throughout the semester with awards and prizes
-
Take pride in helping their classmates
-
Will gain an invaluable experience to add to their resume
-
Set the standard for volunteerism on Western’s campus
-
Will be recognized at the Helping Hands V.I.P. banquet at the end of the semester
