Clothes Closet

The Career Development Center works to advance the professional appearance and confidence of our students and alumni by providing interview/work appropriate clothing and encouraging success.

The Clothes Closet is located at Eder 202 in office “E” and serves MWSU students and alumni who are preparing for an upcoming interview, a new job, or will be attending a professional conference/workshop.

Students and alumni in need are provided work-appropriate separates and/or business accessories.

There is no fee to participate, but an appointment must be made in advance.  Please call 816.271.4205 to schedule an appointment.

Clothing Donations

The Career Development Center is currently accepting donations of contemporary, interview-appropriate clothing and accessories, by appointment only.  All donated items must be pressed and on hangers.  Please call the Career Development Center at 816.271.4205 to schedule an appointment.

Specific needs are:

• Professional suits and separates for both men and women of all sizes
• Scarves, ties and belts for both men and women
• Shoes in all sizes for both men and women

GUIDELINES FOR DONATIONS:

• All clothing must be in good condition, on hangers and ready to wear
• Clothing must be less than 5 years old and/or contemporary in style
• Please donate items you would feel comfortable wearing on an interview yourself

Financial Support

While we appreciate the clothing donations we receive, additional financial support allows us to purchase needed items for our students.  Your donations are used to supplement the Clothes Closet and other career development-related items.

• All financial donations to the Career Development Center Clothes Closet should be sent to the MWSU Career Development Center in Eder Hall, Room 202, 4525 Downs Drive, St. Joseph, MO  64507
• Please mark CDC Clothes Closet on MEMO line of check so that your donation can be designated appropriately
