Go to the website www.aleks.com
Under ALEKS FOR HIGHER EDUCATION, click on » FREE TRIAL.
On the next screen, click on » Try ALEKS Now.
When asked for Occupation, list student.
When asked to Choose your market, choose Higher Education│Math.
When asked to Select a Course, select Intermediate Algebra.
Complete the tutorial and assessment.
The assessment is practice for the MWSU placement test. Your score is displayed when you have finished the assessment. MWSU requires a minimum score of 140 on its version of the assessment.
You may want to do some practice problems after completing the assessment. A minimum score of 130 on the practice exam is a good indicator of success on the actual placement exam.
Come to the Developmental Mathematics Program (DMP) when you have finished practicing and wish to take the placement test. The DMP is located in Popplewell Hall 108, 109, and 114.
