Course Redesign:
Overview
Over 200 higher education faculty and administrators participated in the Statewide Conference on Academic Transformation and Collaboration on October 25-26, 2010. The purpose of the meeting was to reimagine higher education in Missouri. The keynote speaker was Dr. George Mehaffy, Vice President for Academic Leadership and Change (American Association of State Colleges and Universities), who is the author of the Red Balloon Project: Reimaging Undergraduate Education. He is leading nationwide efforts to respond to three challenges facing higher education: rising costs and the likelihood that state funding will never rise to previous levels, rising expectations for higher education with respect to increasing the percentage of individuals with degrees, and ever-changing technology.
With the expectation of statewide participation, Missouri Western is identifying resources and options that best fit
Missouri Western’s needs while contributing to the overall effort to meet student learning needs. Resources on this webpage are organized to engage new ways of thinking about course delivery while maintaining academic success for students.
